The best and worst performing stock markets in 2015

It has not been an easy year for investors, with Britain’s FTSE 100 ending the year in the red.

But plenty of investors who ventured overseas have made money in 2015.

Here we highlight the five best and the five worst performing stock markets this year.

Out of the 35 countries examined – 18 produced a positive return.

We ranked the countries in order of how much money a British investor would have made, so currency swings are factored in.

The data was compiled by Hargreaves Lansdown, the broker, on December 23.
