You'll Finally Be Able To Stop This Annoying Facebook Notification

Standard

If you're fed up with endless Facebook Live notifications, fret no more: A fix is coming.

Facebook will soon let users disable all notifications for the social network's live streaming video channel.

Previously there was no mechanism to do this. People could unsubscribe from specific video feeds, but the service wouldn't let users turn off all Live notifications, which are sent whenever a person or page you follow begins or ends a live broadcast.

"We are starting to roll out a new setting that lets people turn off all live notifications, through their Notifications settings, that will be available to all people soon," said a Facebook spokesperson, per TechRadar.

Users should look for the fix over the next couple of weeks.

The social network launched Live last summer, but only celebrities could broadcast videos of themselves at first. In January, the service expanded, letting anyone in the U.S. with the Facebook iPhone app broadcast live video from their phone and watch videos from friends.

While Live has gained popularity, the constant notifications can get obnoxious.

The Twitter rage says it all:
